Vanport Mechanical & Sprinkler Air Quality Services

As air circulates through your home, viruses, mold spores, and bacteria are also spread. This can trigger allergies or make you sick. One of the best solutions to combat this is with an air purifier. Air purifiers clean the air in ductwork by removing pollen, dust, and odors.

The Vanport Mechanical & Fire Sprinklers Inc. team offers air purifiers, filters, UV light purification system, and services to enhance your indoor air quality.

Types of Air Purifiers

HEPA Filtration Systems

HEPA systems are the gold standard for removing 99.97% of airborne particles as small as 0.3 microns. These workhorses capture everything from pet dander to mold spores that thrive in our damp environment.

Whole-House Air Purification Systems

Whole-home systems integrate directly with your HVAC system, treating every cubic foot of air that circulates through your home. This comprehensive approach ensures consistent air quality in every room—from your basement to your bedrooms.

Activated Carbon Purifier Filters

These excel at eliminating odors and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Whether it’s cooking smells, pet odors, or chemical off-gassing from new furniture, these filters absorb what HEPA filters can’t catch.

UV Light Air Purification

UV Light purification systems work well on their own and complement other purification systems.  UV light air purifier systems are recommended for homes and families with:

  • Allergies
  • Concern for maintaining or improving energy efficiency
  • A humid climate
  • Air conditioning ductwork that requires frequent cleaning
  • Odors caused by cooking, pets, and other sources
  • A dry climate in winter, where windows are closed

With UV light air purifiers, you can improve the air quality and breathe easier throughout your home.

Do UV Light Purifiers Really Work?

Yes, UV light air purifiers are highly effective in killing:

  • Mold spores & mildew: Mold spores and mildew can harm anyone, but they are especially risky for people with allergies, asthma, or other breathing issues. UV light purifiers are only effective in killing airborne mold spores. So if you have mold that’s already developed on surfaces, you’ll need to wipe it off directly.
  • Odors: UV-C lights can eliminate smoking odors, pet odors, and food odors produced from cooking.
  • Viruses & bacteria: Viruses and bacteria cause people to get ill. As these bacteria pass through the UV lights, they are killed, making them no longer harmful to breathe in. Having a UV light air purifier installed in your HVAC system may help reduce cold and flu instances in your home.

Commercial Air Purification Systems

We provide systems that improve indoor air quality, comfort, and meet code standards for businesses in Vancouver WA and the Portland OR Metro Area. This includes offices, clinics, schools, and restaurants.

This typically includes coil surfaces, in-ducting for airstream disinfection, filtration upgrades (where fan capacity allows), and targeted units for high-risk zones (such as conference rooms).

Air Purifier Filters

Do you already have an air filter system but need help with replacement or repairs? We can help. Our HVAC contractors are highly experienced with HVAC systems, including air filtration systems and air purifiers.

We offer a variety of air filters, including those produced by Honeywell, Glasfoss, and Aprilaire. Our filters are effective for 6 to 12 months and are MERV rated. This is the measurement scale that rates the effectiveness of air filters, ranging from 1 to 20, with 20 being the highest.

Not sure which is best for you? We can talk with you and provide you with our recommendations based on your needs.

Does insurance pay for air purifiers?

In most cases, standard health insurance and Medicare do not cover residential air purifiers. But it’s best to check with your insurer or benefits administrator to make sure.

However, there are some possible exceptions and alternatives, such as:

  • HSAs and FSAs may reimburse you when an air purifier is prescribed for a condition like asthma or severe allergies.
  • Low-income assistance and rebates for HEPA units are offered through certain programs during wildfire smoke events from select states, counties, and utility companies.

Which is better: an air purifier or an ionizer?

Air purifiers and ionizers solve different problems: air purifiers capture microorganisms (viruses, bacteria, and mold), and ionizers charge particles without capturing them.

For your Vancouver WA and the Portland OR Metro Area space, the experts at Vanport Mechanical & Fire Sprinklers Inc. can help compare your options, including our iWave-R ionizer.
