Do UV Light Purifiers Really Work? 

Yes, UV light air purifiers are highly effective in killing:

UV light purifiers are only effective in killing airborne mold spores. So if you have mold that’s already developed on surfaces, you’ll need to wipe it off directly.

Does insurance pay for air purifiers?

In most cases, standard health insurance and Medicare do not cover residential air purifiers. But it’s best to check with your insurer or benefits administrator to make sure.

However, there are some possible exceptions and alternatives, such as:

• HSAs and FSAs may reimburse you when an air purifier is prescribed for a condition like asthma or severe allergies.
• Low-income assistance and rebates for HEPA units are offered through certain programs during wildfire smoke events from select states, counties, and utility companies.
